An effective bridge between two great nations

We are an apolitical, non-religious, non-profit association whose mandate is to promote and expand trade relations, services and industry between Canada and Guatemala.

REASONS THAT LED
TO THE FOUNDING OF
THE CANADIAN CHAMBER
OF COMMERCE
IN GUATEMALA

Canada has positioned itself as one of the ten largest investors in the country in recent years. The Canada-Guatemala free trade agreement is in the stage of negotiations with both countries; this will promote trade with major advantages.

From 2013 to 2014, the exports from Guatemala to Canada increased from 159.9 to 235.9 million $US, with a positive trade balance for Guatemala. Canada is one of the three largest foreign investors in Guatemala, with a cumulative investment of more than one billion Canadian dollars in 2014. The main areas of investment for Canadian businesses are telecommunications, the extractive industry and agriculture.

Well-known Canadian brands such as Dollarcity, Imax, Freshii, Helados Marco Polo, Yogen Früz, Bumble Bee, Mitel, Kryton, and Contrast Lighting, are currently found on the Guatemalan market.
