CANCHAM strengthens the relationship and alliances through the promotion of interaction spaces between various institutions, in November a first approach was made between our partners World Vision Guatemala, Aquacorp, CGN and the Peas and Vegetables Committee of Agexport / Fundaverja with the objective of mapping and subsequent development of joint work areas especially for the union of efforts and knowledge in favor of a positive reaction to disasters and emergencies at the national level.
In August, the Chamber conducted a training on Mental Wellbeing in the Labor Field, with which the Canadian company WMA Wellness was introduced in Guatemala, a company with a lot of experience focused on development and potential.
On July 30, Cancham in alliance with Popoyán closed the month of Canada with the presentation of the Canadian market study, trade fairs and support program in commercial appointments.
On July 25, Cancham, in alliance with the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held an informative talk about the temporary work program for Canada in the area of agriculture. A program that has benefited more than 8,000 Guatemalans in 2018 and is expected this year to benefit more than 10,000 Guatemalans. The Guatemalan Embassy in Canada and the Canadian Embassy in Guatemala are working together to expand this program to technical positions in welding, electricity, carpentry, etc. This is done as an information platform.
On July 2, an event was held in conjunction with the Canadian Embassy, in which the Embassy team, its programs and work areas in the commercial, political, development, consular, and many other areas on Canada.
On June 24, in alliance with the Embassy of Canada in Guatemala, a training on the visa process was conducted with Canadian personnel from the Mexican migration section; the process could be approached step by step and answer questions especially for visas in projects or commercial missions. This is another of the activities that the Chamber works with the Commercial Area of the Embassy, in promoting the bilateral relationship and access spaces to which our members can count as part of their benefits.
In June, Cancham held its Ordinary Assembly in which progress was made in the work plan, budget execution and the Chamber’s strategy for this period was reaffirmed.
On June 6, one of the networking activities that has been an important pillar in the Chamber, is the polar bar, an after office event.
Cancham propitiates spaces to channel the exchange and enrich the network of contacts of our partners. During the month of March, we held a networking event, along with the launch of “Positive work places”, in which the methodology of our partner WMA Wellness, a Canadian consultancy that develops work solutions in positive psychology and management consultancy, was also presented to the audience.
