The Guatemalan Canadian Chamber of Commerce, held at the beginning of December, their Christmas Party, in the company of partners, colleagues and friends of the House, took place in the residence of the Lady Ambassador of Canada in Guatemala Rita Rudaitis – Renaud; a very pleasant moment in which the new partners 2018 were also welcomed.
The Cancham Board of Directors 2018, held on December 5, 2018, an Extraordinary Assembly in which the members of the Board of Directors were elected. This event was prior to the 2018 meeting.
The legal committee in November 2018, conducted an analysis event between financial managers and legal personnel with a tax specialty, in which they discussed from different points of view how SAT management and impact had been especially in the commercial and financial environment, investment and what it looked like in 2019.
Cancham, through its commercial committee, held an informative breakfast with the support of Hapag Lloyd in September 2018, in which there was training on the main logistics data that should be taken into account from and to Canada.
In September, Cancham coordinated 45-minute personalized consultancies with the TFO Canada consultant.
Cancham coordinated with TFO Canada, a leading organization recognized for its work in improving the living conditions of people through the facilitation of sustainable international trade for small and medium enterprises in developing countries.
The Guatemalan Canadian Chamber of Commerce held a luncheon to analyze from the economic, social and legal perspectives, the effects of the courts’ actions for trade and their development. The event counted with the participation of expert analysts in each area in a proactive, conversational and comprehensive analysis environment such as: Pedro Trujillo, Ramón Parellada, Stuart Ralón and Jorge Luis Herrera.
The Chamber, in its close relationship with the Embassy of Canada in Guatemala, participates in different activities that are carried out, in July the Embassy carried out an activity for different interest groups, with the objective of publicizing their work areas, their programs and activities.
CANCHAM and the Canadian Embassy celebrated Canada Day on July 5, 2018 at Casa Veranda with an event in the polar bar format, attended by more than 70 people from companies, government institutions, institutions that promote commercial development, people from the Embassy and NGOs that work together with other sectors.
The Chamber carries out several activities in conjunction with the Embassy and in May 2018 a training and discussion was held on “Sustainability and Voluntary Principles of Security and Human Rights, with the participation of Fanie V.Thibeault.
